1. i think next year should be fun so i need to plan ahead about next year

2. i think i want to have a major change in my life. thinking about switching job from teaching to new task

3. why not? changes are good. i like changes. at least i can do the learning process and adding new knowledges into my brain

4. i think the world is waiting for me to make the first step to change

new year is coming. some things will be ended. and some begins.


my cargo is expected to arrive today. we will see.

0933 hours

i went for dinner at my new fren's place last night. she cooked steam fish, herbal chicken soup, some veggie and rice. we had good dinner. i thanked her for that. its not about the food, but the thought is much more important.

we discussed about a lot of things.

1. her family and i have some information about her now. she speaks hakka, she is budhist, she is the youngest in the family. she is from sandakan. she has the access to have fresh fish and offers me to have fresh fish. she also invites me to visit her at sandakan. so i said, on one fine day ill be visiting her and her family. she likes to watch soap opera during her time.

2. i learnt how to cook steam fish chinese style. it is very simple and easy. and i think i can have steam fish in the future. i need to learn preparing and cooking some dishes. because after this i have to treat her with malay dishes.

3. it is good to meet new people and learn about others. i feel comfortable talking and being with her.

saturday morning

i attended several programs held by the organisation. i collected a lot of data. about the people. about the custom and culture exercised here. some of them are:

1. 'seniority' status creates havoc when it comes to certain issues like parking, position and salary. the funny part was, when some of them claim to be 'senior' compare to the newcomers (who already served for the government several years) compare to the 'senior' who just serve for one year.

2. i found out that this is very surprising. the mentality carried by the people who claim to be 'senior'. dont you think this is rather funny because i believe that the core business you are working is to serve for your clientele. and the key performance index will differentiate each others. not the period being at the organization or certain places. and i also believe that, to tell whether you are master or expert in your task in the industry, evaluated by your contributions.


3. second, regarding to parking issue. this is another funny story i heard from a close friend who is also newcomer. the parking rule stated that, parking allocated according to the house number. it is as simple as that. so who has car do not have to worry about parking because every house has one parking allocated. it doesnt matter whether the parking allocated for you is with roof or without roof. that is another issue.

4. problem arises when residents who are senior (define by how long you were there) park their car not at their right parking. so when new people come in, some bring their cars some not. so you can see what occurs now.

5. i think that this is small matter and should be solved wisely. rules are made to overcome problems and make life much more easier to live. so when some people think that 'learn the rules, break some' you have to think about the consequences to the others who follow the rules accordingly.

pink day

today i discovered that thumbdrive is not reliable. i changed to floppy disk. twice i cannot open the folder so it must be affected by the evil virus. i cant save large file though in the floppy disk. so now i have to manage my floppy disk according to the sub topic of my lesson.

i had a misunderstanding with one person yesterday. i guess thats what life is all about. the people in your life and how you manage. some things cannot be changed and regarding this you have to compromise. but for me if changing something can bring another sun shine in your life, why not? changing for good will not harm anyone. it will certainly improve life. dont u think?

i always believe in change. change is good thing. why not?

second week

i think i like teaching college students. several reasons:

1. it is easy to conduct the lecture with great facilities.
2. it makes me happy to be able teaching communication.
3. it reminds me to be up to date and well prepared.
4. it helps me to enhance my public speaking skill.

i have a large audience in a big lecture hall. i have different background of students(from borneo). i learn to comprehend their culture. i also learn to communicate well with them. basically i'm learning to understand them.

as for the colleagues, i still keep myself apart. i purposely build a barrier with them. time will tell when i am ready to be closed to particular person. but then, i am doing fine i think. as long as i do my task, everything should be alright i believe.

i miss my former students.

sunday evening

today i end up spending my evening in the office. there is no better place than office at the moment. so better utilised it.
another interesting findings:

1. the pengarah of KML drives a proton car (iswara aeroback).
2. the lecturers of KML drives honda, toyota and nissan cars.
3. the clerks of KML drives honda.
4. and as for me i take mini bus to town and i walk to kolej every morning.

I dont have my furniture and other stuff yet in my apartment so:

1. i dont cook, and i eating out.
2. i do laundry manually.
3. i watch the wall and the clouds most of the time.
4. i read book and newspaper along with the advertisements.
5. i sweep the floor twice a day.
6. i found out that i enjoy watching the sky most of the time.

lesson learnt

1. i experienced communication barrier this week.

2. starting on Monday ive been calling the nearby resort about room reservation for the invited speaker. then payment for the room will be paid by the organization. so one of the requirement is something to do with one certificate. i need that certificate. and i dont receive it until today.

3. worried about the time constraint, i met the officer in charge, explaining to him about the certificate. he briefs about the procedure then he gives one call to the nearby resort, and problem solved.

4. my point is, he knows what he wants and he delivers it clearly. and i think my mistake was i dont speak straight to the point. i give a lot of explanation which it ends up confusing them.

5. lesson learnt.

tuesday morning

i think i am adapting well the new life. i did a lot of reading lately. since there is no tv or astro..i ended up reading. and blogging.

i take a walk at 5 in the evening. i spend about 40 minutes to take the fresh air and try to sweat myself. i did a lot of observation, too.

1. students in here are having a hell of good time. they seem to enjoy themselves.
2. having dinner or lunch in the cafeteria is not bad at all.
3. office is open 24 hours, no execuse for not doing your job.
4. time is yours. i dont experience the pressure yet not that im asking for it.
5. i need to think of something rather than reading and blogging.

first day

today is my first day entering lecturer hall. first lecture i was accompanied with a colleague. so after i see how he handles the first slide. i think i know how to run the class. its not so bad. teaching is teaching. you are doing the teaching only the audience is large this time. i think it should be fun. this semester especially.

i found out that:

1. teaching college students is convenience.
2. distributing tasks is much easier.
3. they dont make much noise.
4. they ask relevant questions.
5. some are cooperative. some are cold.


but then, i have a long way to go. so i should give myself more time to get used with them. with the teaching method and approach.

we ll see how.

it's about who you make happy
or unhappy purposely
it's about keeping or betraying trust
it's about friendship
used as a sanctity or a weapon.

it's about what you say and mean
maybe hurtful
maybe heartening
about starting rumors and contributing
to petty gossips
about what judgments you pass
and who your judgments are spread to.

so, you are into being a teacher or baby
it's about who you are ignored
with full and intention
it's about jealousy, fear, ignorance and revenge
it's about carrying inner hate and love
letting it grows and spreading it

but most of all
it's about using your life
to touch or poison other peoples' heart in such a way
that could have never occurred alone.
only you choose the way
those hearts are affected.

are what life is all about.

ill be leaving Malaya again. back to Labuan. heheh...its funny to admit that im missing the peacefulness found in Labuan.

so i guess i need to upload some pictures of Labuan after my discovery trip.

friday morning

today will be the last day for semester 1. the weather is cold. its raining.
i did my packing last night. so i should be leaving after asar.

another findings about Labuan.

1. when u eat in the restaurant, the portion allocated in the plate is generous. so you dont mind paying more.(compare to Malaya).

2. the people from Malaya are friendly. so you dont feel alone here.

3. i dont see at the moment, people with obese problem.

4. you can leave your helmet on the bike safely. nobody bothers to take your helmet. (compare to Malaya)

5. it is safe to walk along the pedestrian. i appreciate this.

6. when you take the mini bus, you only pay when you want to stop.

7. you can only have daily newspaper after lunch hour or in the evening.

so living here is not as bad as you think before. it is a new world to be explored.
im just being optimistic.

36 hours before Malaya

Tomorrow im flying back to Malaya. today i do printing jobs.
for my teaching purpose. next week is a semester break.
the following week will be my first lecture.

So basically, sesape yang pernah terdengar mengenai keindahan bumi Labuan,
lupakan saja. tiada apa yang menarik di sini.

1. kemajuan yang agak lembap
2. keadaan ekonomi yang tidak aktif
3. kawalan harga yang langsung tiada
4. barang mentah makanan tidak segar
5. barang 2 keperluan rumah tidak berkualiti dan tiada pilihan
6. restoran dan kedai makan yang terhad
7. waktu operasi perniagaan begitu singkat

kesimpulannya,tiada kemahuan yang perlu dilayan. hanya memenuhi keperluan asas untuk hidup.

Namun begitu, bekerja di KML agak menarik.

1. keperluan dan kemudahan diberi sepenuhnya untuk tenaga pengajar
2. hanya fokus kepada matapelajaran yang dipegang
3. tidak perlu melayan kerenah ibu bapa
4. tidak perlu menjadi:
a.'doktor kesihatan'
b.'kerani kewangan'
c.'penghias dalaman'
d.'jurulatih sukan'
e.'pengerusi persatuan/kelab'
f.'pak guard'

5. so bagi kawan2 yang mahu bertukar angin, rajin2lah isi borang secara online. sesungguhnya banyak lagi peluang pekerjaan untuk orang yang biasa dan rajin bekerja seperti kita.

6. Kehidupan kat sini tenang dan aman. tiada keserabutan. sesiapa yang ingin berehat barang setahun dua, kedatangan anda amat2 dialukan.

Labuan oh Labuan

Yesterday i moved around the island. Then i found out:

1. this island is a peaceful place
2. though the cost of living is high, still it is a nice place
3. the people from peninsular are very friendly
4. so far, the weather is kind

Leaving Peninsular Malaysia to Labuan

sunday morning

today is sunday. and i wake up late for the last 2 days. the time in Labuan is different. so im taking time to get used with the time here.the clock shows 9.50am but i feel like almost afternoon. the sun rises early and shines early too.

i like the weather here. raining every morning. the wind and the clouds. the peacefullness. you can feel it here. no rush. at all.

i went to the town yesterday. several facts i found about Labuan:

1. no traffic jam
2. no tol
3. public transportation for bus is cheap. it costs me rm1.80 from town to KML.
4. buses operates on weekends only.
5. taxi services is expensive. rm22 from KML to town. so you can do your calculation.


there are few discoveries too.

1. things are expensive here
2. the cheap items are beers,cigarette and chocolates
3. perfume is expensive, too bad
4. there's nothin to shop so i can save my money.

hehehhe....so Kak Shidah yang interested to visit Labuan..i hope you dont feel disappointed. if you want to rest and visit the beaches and islands..ok kot. but if you want to shop, i recommend you visit Langkawi.or go to Sogo better.

final week

this week is the final week im here. nothing much happened. i did my final assignment at home. i wasnt around yesterday. so today im planning to submit my assignments and get over it.

so this week i wont do any assignment just studying and enjoy my time here.

good friday

i have another one week to go before i left the peninsular malaysia. im flying and moving to labuan territory for good. a new place. new people. new life. new beginning.
im looking forward to visit several islands there. im planning to do a lot of explorations there.

i think in a certain stage in life u need to change your environment.a new perspective to look upon to.

the miserable time i spent here in maktab will be ended soon. it was my first and last application entering such course. i felt disappointed with the course. i dunno maybe im not familiar or it doesnt meet my expectation. i met new people. weird one. nice one. funny one. kind one. well...life goes on still no matter how bad it turns out to be.

the best thing about attending course is you can observe and analyze how the system in an institution runs the show. comparing this institute with my former institute, i can see a huge gap. the lecturers, the management, the attitude and the students.
maybe the difference of school of thought affecting the whole system in general. i said maybe.

i dunno but i pity all the students who enroll here. a lot of improvement need to be implemented or else the quality of malaysian teachers is in stake. im worried when i think about this. i hope and wish them well though.

i have a lonely aidilfitri this year. it felt awkward at the beginning but then i think i can cope.

i met several lonely people. they are living on their own now. their loved ones left them. it sounds lonely. and i can feel the loneliness creeping around them. they are successful people. they are kind at heart. yet they were left alone. well whomever said that life is fair.

they were left and there were holes in their souls.

and i think i am entering to their circle. living a life on your own.
i still remember this. under some circumstances, people change.

i pray and i pray that i will be braved and strong to proceed life.
i am young compare to them. i have a long way to go. they managed. so why cant i?

what a small world

today is a good day. i went to amin's house and had dinner. a plenty of food to eat. i felt like hari raya already. i was surfing the net, checking my inbox and friendster and i found out that razi is abdul rashid's son! can you believe this!

o my god! wat else can i say? i cant sleep. im on the net. and im still surprised!
what does it mean? i dunno. i wish i can tell you the answer.

back to class

praktikum is over. so now im back to maktab. continuing classes and finishing the unfinished assignments. i hope i can do this before the eid holiday. most of us are busy right now.

i surf the net, looking for the reference for the report i have to write. 15 pages report for Mariah. Another report to write for Halimah. and for Sazali..final project.
i think i can do this. sometimes i think i dont want to do this. but then, choices have been made. and i have to pay for the consequences.

day 10 - praktikum

Friday, September 19 2008.

Today is our last day here. Students do final editing and do their printing job. They hand over their assignments done in group. Students also learn how to operate the network printer located in the room.

Everybody is happy. I am happy. We also handover the video corporate for the school to the headmaster. We thank everybody and express our gratification.
We take few pictures together before we leave the school.

It will be a memorable moments to remember.

Refleksi Minggu Kedua Praktikum

P&P dapat dijalankan namun begitu modul Microsoft Word tidak dapat dihabiskan. Beberapa masalah teknikal timbul. Antaranya berlaku litar pintas di dalam bilik Akses. Komputer tidak boleh berfungsi. Ini bermakna guru pelatih menyediakan bahan rujukan di dalam bentuk softcopy dan dimasukkan ke dalam komputer di bilik Akses. Bahan ini akan menjadi bahan rujukan kepada pelajar untuk meneruskan modul Microsoft Word secara berdikari.

Penyelaras bilik Akses dan guru kelas boleh meneruskan P&P dan menggunakan modul ini sebagai bahan pengajaran. Namun begitu, tugasan murid dapat juga dicetak apabila masalah lintara pintas diatasi. Tugasan murid adalah dokumen penting untuk dimuatkan di dalam portfolio sebagai bahan dan hasil P&P yang dijalankan oleh guru pelatih. Video korporat sekolah dalam bentuk cakera padat juga telah dihasilkan dan diserahkan kepada pihak sekolah. Guru pelatih mengucapkan penghargaan terhadap pihak pentadbir dan guru-guru yang banyak memberi kerjasama.

day 9 - praktikum

Thursday.September 18,2008.

Today is a good day. Finally the wiring problem is settled. All the desktops can be used. Thank god for that. 3 classes entered the room. Students continued with their unfinished tasks. We are able to print out their tasks.

Today also the last day to collect any necessary information to be included for our portfolio. I think I'm going to miss this school. This school will be my last teaching experience in primary school. It will be my most memorable teaching experience. The voice of the little children will be missed most. The look. The moments.

Life goes on.still.

Refleksi Minggu Pertama Praktikum

Melalui perbincangan di antara guru pelatih dan pihak pentadbir serta penyelaras bilik Akses, guru pelatih ditugaskan di bilik Akses. Guru pelatih mengendalikan beberapa kelas di dalam bilik Akses. Pelajar didedahkan dengan kemahiran asas Microsoft Word dan pengenalan asas mengenai sistem komputer. Guru pelatih membantu murid melaksanakan tugasan ringkas menggunakan Microsoft Word.

Guru pelatih menggunakan pendekatan pair teaching dan collaborative learning approach di dalam bilik Akses. Seorang guru pelatih membimbing beberapa kumpulan kecil pelajar ekoran daripada bilangan komputer yang tidak selari dengan bilangan murid. Ekoran daripada ruang yang terhad berbanding dengan bilangan murid yang besar, guru pelatih mendapat latihan secara terus untuk mengendalikan kelas berbantukan komputer serta meningkatkan kemahiran dalam pengawalan kelas dan pengurusan masa.

Di samping itu, guru pelatih turut membantu guru-guru yang menjalankan P&P di dalam bilik Akses. Pada waktu yang sama, guru pelatih mengutip data dan maklumat mengenai sekolah untuk menghasilkan video korporat sekolah.

day 8 - praktikum

Wednesday. September 17,2008.

This room has been emptied for the last 48 hour. The electricity power supply is interrupted. Still. I'm not sure but according to the technical person, something is not right with the power supply. I am not a technical person. For me if there is no electricity you can't on the desktops. Why? No electricity.

So what we do is, after listening to the technical person advise. We only use 3 desktops at one time. To avoid overflow usage of electricity. Students continue with their unfinished task. It is better than nothing.

Video corporate is in progress.

day 7 - praktikum

Tuesday. September 16,2008.

Today 2 classes entered Bilik Akses. We continue Microsoft Word lesson. We are unable to proceed with Microsoft Excel. Due to time constraint. So we decided to emphasize on Microsoft Word alone. Accident happens. Out of sudden, the electricity power is interrupted. For several times! Regarding to the management, this happens sometimes. So they advised us to stop the usage until the savior comes.

We also started documentation process for our portfolio. Collecting resources and students work to be attached along with the rest. I hope we can finish this work by end of this week and be able to submit it to the lecturer in charge.

Video corporate making is in progress. Still. Almost 60%.

Today is Minggu Bestari. A lot of activities will be held. Akses Room will be fully utilized. Competitions for students to participate. No classes entered the Akses Room. Students have class activity due to Minggu Bestari.

Lecturer in charge, En. Sazali pays us a visit. He lists down several tasks for us. We take note and update our information for the folio's requierement and other related matters.
